I’m currently 30 weeks, so I’m well in to the third trimester. Where is the time going?!
How I’m Feeling
Overall, I am lucky to be feeling great. Despite getting a virus two weeks ago that I am still getting over, I really can’t complain too much. The virus has been rough since there is not much medication I can take while pregnant. I did try elderberry syrup (this local one is delicious) for the first time and it seemed to help! My heartburn has been pretty bad the past few weeks. It’s so bad that I keep a stash of Tums in many different places in case of emergency- at home, in the car, and in my work bag. If I don’t have my Tums and the heartburn sets in, I cannot think about anything else until I get some relief!
I am trying to get used to working night shift, as I just started about two weeks ago. It is an adjustment for sure! Some problems I’ve run in to due to the nature of my job are varicose veins and restless legs. I ordered some compression socks and am going to try and lay off caffeine while at work to help decrease my restless legs. On the positive side, I have been sleeping great in between shifts.
I’m feeling pretty proud that I also worked out this week for the first time in forever. It felt great to stretch my muscles and get a little cardio in. I need to keep it up while I’m feeling good!
I’m feeling the baby kick like crazy all the time. He’s getting bigger and stronger, so the kicks are more pronounced and Luke can even see my belly moving from the outside. It’s very entertaining to us.
What I’m Loving
This past weekend we got to go on a babymoon to Destin, Florida. It was some wonderful, much needed time together. Due to my new work schedule, I had to work the night before we left and the night that we got back, so I slept in the car as much as I could. You better believe I brought my amazing pregnancy pillow in the car and it was a lifesaver!! I seriously cannot live without that thing now.
Unfortunately, I’ve gotten a few more stretch marks since my last bumpdate, ugh. I know it is probably 99% due to genetics, so there’s not much I can do to prevent them. I’ve been using so many oils and lotions, but this week I added this oil because I read that Vitamin E oil is the best for stretch marks. Doesn’t hurt to try. I’ll let you know how it works! So far, it absorbs very well and doesn’t feel greasy despite being an oil, which is a huge plus.
Highlights Through the Weeks
Highlights would be babymoon-ing and feeling the baby move so much. I had a lovely shower in my hometown that my best friend threw for me. It was the best day and I felt so spoiled!! We are getting a 3D ultrasound in a few days because I am impatient and can’t wait to see his little face! I am anxious and excited and will share that on stories when we do it.
The bump is rapidly growing!! Like whoa. I have my next doctors appointment on Friday, but so far, they said my belly is measuring right on track.
