Greetings from Canada! We’ve been here since Friday and we’re loving every minute so far. Well, maybe every minute except where we lost our luggage temporarily 😉 Overall we have had a blast and have already seen a lot of sights.
Woke up at sunrise and drove about an hour away to Abbotsford for a tulip festival. Lots of pictures to come!! It was breathtaking!
Picked up Luke’s race packet and explored the marathon expo in the city center.
Had lunch at Cactus Club…a local chain, but so yummy!
Luke’s sisters good friend drove us around the outskirts of Vancouver so that we could see some sights we wouldn’t easily be able to see ourselves. We walked around Stanley Park, went to Cypress Lookout and saw an amazing view of the entire city, and went to Lynn Canyon and walked across the suspension bridge. We had delicious pasta at Anton’s so that Luke could carb load for the race, haha. We topped it off with ice cream from Rain or Shine.
Our first day was a whirlwind, but I’m glad we got to see so much right off the bat!
Marathon day!! I enjoyed some coffee and avocado toast while Luke was running, haha. It was fun to track him on my phone and meet up with him along the way. I’ve never been so proud! He decided he wanted to run his first marathon before he turned 30 and he did it with ease. He never ceases to amaze me.
The rest of the day and the next day Luke just wanted to rest, so we have been relaxing and exploring a little bit in the neighborhood where we’re staying, Yaletown. It is so cute and there are lots of great shops and restaurants!
Stay tuned for more adventures and photos to come this week!
