Fashion Resolutions for 2017
Now that 2017 is in full swing and we are over a week into it, it’s time to dive deeper into other resolutions you may not have thought about!
I chose a few personal resolutions for 2017 that you can read about here, but I kept those pretty simple and attainable. These fashion resolutions are goals that I always keep in mind year round and thought I would share.
1. Keep your closet under control
This is probably the most difficult one for me. After a long day of work or traveling, I hate putting my clothes away or unpacking. The clothes end up piling on my closet floor. My mom visited me a couple months ago and helped me do a MAJOR closet overhaul. She organized everything really well and since then I have aimed to put my clothes away daily to keep it looking neat. It saves so much time when I am looking for a certain item and I can actually see what I have.
2.Take fashion risks
It’s important to switch it up every now and then. Yes, I love wearing sweaters and leggings in the winter (and lots of neutral colors lately) but I never regret stepping outside of my fashion comfort zone. It helps to draw inspiration from other outfits and see things that you would not think of putting together yourself. Pinterest is my go-to when I need outfit inspiration!
3.Invest in quality handbags
A few weeks ago, I got sick and tired of my bags literally overflowing and falling out of my closet. In an effort to follow resolution #1, I re-organized all of them and got rid of any that I haven’t carried in the past year. I also donated the ones that I just didn’t love or weren’t great quality. Going forward, I am only going to buy bags that I know will last a long time that are from trustworthy brands. Some of my recent additions are here and here. I would rather have a couple nice bags than 30 cheap bags, if that makes sense haha.
4.Try a Trend (but don’t forget your signature style)
I feel that some girls wear trendy things 100% of the time and some are scared to try any at all. There is a happy medium in there. Don’t be intimidated! Adding just one trendy piece to an outfit can spice it up and add interest to your look. Try adding a choker or a suede pump. See my take on suede here.
5.Invest in a really good coat
This is something I have done for the first time in my 28 years and I am so glad I finally did. It was worth it and I should have sooner! I have talked about this a lot lately, you can find posts on my favorite coats here and the best winter coat here.
Do you have any fashion resolutions for this year? I’d love to hear!
