I have written a lot already about my goals and things I’m doing differently this year than last. The past year was so insane that I realized I had to make some changes. I was constantly living in a state of stress and anxiety.
One major thing I’m doing differently this year is changing what I say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to so that I can make life easier. I have a lot on my plate and I’ve had to accept that it is okay to say ‘no’ to some commitments. On the other hand, it is okay to give up control and say ‘yes’ to helpful things that come along. A major example of this is when 2ULaundry service presented itself. I found out about 2ULaundry from my apartment community. They told us about them when we moved in one year ago. At that time, I was scared to let anyone else see my dirty clothes, let alone give up control about how they’re washed/folded/etc. Well, little did I know, I’ve been missing out this whole past year!!
I am a weirdo and actually like doing laundry, but unfortunately I don’t always have the time. As a nurse, I come home after a long twelve (sometimes up to fourteen) hour shift and the last thing I feel like doing is laundry. If I work a few days in a row, then the laundry does not get done for awhile.
I recently starting using 2U about a month ago and I am in love. There are many reason why and I’ve decided to list out my top 3 for you!
Here are the 3 major reasons why I love 2ULaundry:
1. They’re prompt
Once you set up an account online, they drop off the laundry bag at your doorstep. This happened within a day. I filled it up that night once I got home from work at like 9 pm and set it back outside my door. They picked it up while I was at work the next morning and then the day after that when I got home from my third day of work it was waiting for me outside my door. That was an amazing feeling and such a relief to me that I didn’t have that extra chore in the back of my mind. They advertise that they have a 1-business day turn around and it took about 24 hours that time. That is so fast!
2. They’re convenient
Their job is to make your life easier and you will truly feel it. I set up text alerts so I know when they’re dropping off and picking up the bag. I had a question about whether I should set the bag outside my door or in my leasing office because we have a fob access community and I wasn’t sure if they could get all the way inside. I was able to chat with them via text and they came all the way to my door to pick it up. This made it such a low hassle on my end and I was very thankful for that.
3. Their attention to detail
As I said, I am quite the control freak, especially when it comes to laundry. I was pleased to see that you can choose details about how your clothes are washed when you set up your account online like whether or not you like softener, scented detergent, etc. I’ve been wanting to take our comforter, which is really huge, to a commercial dry cleaning place but haven’t had the time lately. I texted them to see if they could wash this and they could! They let me know that they will wash anything according to the care tag. If you want them to wash it differently than the care tag states, you can just let them know. Brilliant. They also do dry cleaning and I am about to get all of my coats that I wore at fashion week dry cleaned since some got soaked from snow and sleet.
