NYFW Day 1
Whew, what a whirlwind of a day it has been! I’ll be documenting all of my fashion week activities here so you can hopefully see what it’s like to be attending all of these events & shows.
We were going to wake up early and do a photoshoot, but we woke up to an insane blizzard outside our window. Snow was falling like crazy and blowing sideways.
The first show of the day was Nicholas K. My ticket was for standing, but I ended up getting to sit in the front row! It was definitely exciting to have such a good seat for my first show ever.
In the afternoon we stopped by the Baublebar showroom and got to meet the sweet team there and pick out some fabulous baubles.
Next up was two more shows, Noon by Noor and Tadashi Shoji. Both were fabulous. I didn’t bring my camera in, so I wasn’t able to get quality photos, but you can see some snaps on my insta stories!
After the shows, we headed to the Rebecca Minkoff store for her After Party event. Rebecca Minkoff’s runway show was in LA a few days ago, but they were playing it in the store and all of the products from the show were available to purchase. Pretty amazing. The best part of this event was that Rebecca herself was actually there! She was so sweet, chatting and taking photos with everyone. As you probably know, I am obsessed with her bags!! It was so fun getting to meet her.
You can shop Rebecca’s coat from her latest collection here
The day ended with the Michael Costello show which I love his gowns, so I was excited to see this show. I also love people watching (especially at airports & in NYC) and there were definitely lots of interesting characters in the crowd at this show, including someone dressed up like a life sized carebear 😀
At this point, it was getting late into the evening and we were finally able to eat a real meal for the first time today! We went to Rosie’s, per a friend’s recommendation and it did not disappoint! Amazing cantina style mexican food. Amazing ambiance. It was delish and you should try it if you’re in NYC.
We’re finally back in our hotel for the night and I just looked in the mirror and my face is soo wind burnt! The snow/temperature was not that bad today honestly, it was the wind that was KILLER. It was 20-30 mph winds. When I heard that it didn’t really sink in, but imagine skiing really fast down a snow slope with no goggles or mask and the snow is blowing in your face….ouch!! It was painful, but thankfully it’s done snowing and it didn’t interfere with the shows today.
