Happy Blogiversary!
It’s been one year! I can’t believe it. I published my first post in June of last year.
I remember, a couple years ago, reading other people’s blogiversary posts whether it be 5 years or even 1 year and thinking to myself, wow, they’ve been blogging so long! It seemed so daunting to even start a blog. But with my hubby’s encouragement, I finally decided to just start. I prefer for everything to be as perfect as possible, but life (and blogging) is about progress, not perfection. I realized if I didn’t just jump in and start writing, I would never do it!
And I am so glad I did.
It has been a long year, but a good year.
So much has happened! In the past year, I started my nursing job, I started a Bachelor’s program online, we moved twice, and we started event planning, too. Whew!
Looking back, it has been the busiest year of Luke & I’s lives, but also one of the most fun. He resented taking my photos at first (#instahubby), but now it’s time that we look forward to spending together. I have LOVED the people that I have met through this little blog. I’ve been to several meetups and a few events and have been able to network with some amazing ladies! Blogging is such a unique industry…some people choose to be competitive with other bloggers and some chose to collaborate and share with others. I have had positive experiences with other bloggers who have been so helpful. The blogging industry has definitely exploded within the past year.
A million people besides myself also decided to start a blog, haha. That can be scary and intimidating and some feel the need to push others down in order to rise to the top. But I think this quote is fitting for the blogging world and it is the attitude I try to have: “A rising tide lifts all boats.” Even if the blogging world is growing exponentially, there is enough room for all of us to be successful!
In the Year to come…
In the next year, personally, I would like to procrastinate less, travel more, workout more, read more, entertain more, and finish my Bachelor’s degree. (That’s a lot of “mores.” I feel like I should put numbers on those goals, haha. But I’m going to procrastinate on that and do it later ;))
My goals for the next year, blog-wise, are to post consistently and more frequently, grow my audience and tailor the content to you all, attend at least one blogging conference, attend as many blogging events as I can, and incorporate a wider variety of content (nursing, home decor, & travel).
My goal is to bring you great content throughout the next year, so stay tuned!
Now, onto this fabulous dress! I recently met with Bernadette from Dressed Charlotte and rented this dress from her cute little shop. It was love at first sight when I saw the sequins and fringe 😉
Sadly, this dress is not available for purchase anymore, but here are some fun, similar alternatives:
Amazing people who have helped me so much and deserve a shoutout and a million thanks:
