One of my favorite holidays is almost here. I look forward to Thanksgiving every year and sometimes I think it is my top favorite. It’s a holiday that gets over-looked a lot because it is seen as a pre-Christmas celebration and that Christmas is really the big party we’re getting excited about. Many people are already in Christmas mode, but I think it’s important to pause and spend Thanksgiving Day as a time to reflect on the year and all we have to be thankful for.
This year, I will be working at the hospital on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, so it’s the first year that I won’t be spending it with family. I am used to working on Black Friday when I worked in retail, but thank goodness they were closed on Thanksgiving Day. While I was a little sad about this at first, two things are keeping me positive. First, when I feel the little twinge of not wanting to be there on Thanksgiving, I think of my patients and how much they really do not want to be there. They need someone there to help them and support them during a difficult time in their life. It’s the least I can do to show up and bring a positive, happy attitude. Secondly, I will get to spend lots and lots of time with my immediate family, relatives, and in-laws during Christmas and New Years, so I can look forward to that!
If I were going to my family get together on Thursday, I would probably wear this outfit. It’s cozy, comfortable, and warm fall colors. Perfection.
What are your Thanksgiving plans? And more importantly, what are you wearing? 😉
That hat, those sunglasses, and that clutch!! All of my fav’s!! Looking great!! <3
