Travel Style + NYFW Plans
Hey guys! I’ve made it to the city for my very first fashion week. It was a long morning of traveling, but so worth it, as we already accomplished a lot today!
It was an early morning because our flight left Charlotte at 7:40am on Wednesday. We landed in Newark around 9:30 and our journey wasn’t even half over yet. We made the long trek into the city and we got to our hotel around 11. It seemed like it took forever, even though this was our second time coming in from Newark and we are getting more familiar with the complicated process of trains, subways & more…. Let me know if you’d like to see a post with tips on how to get into the city! I don’t think we’ll fly into NJ again and we’ve learned the hard way haha.
I have already learned that NYC plans are subject to change. A couple days ago I heard that there would probably be some snow while I was here. Okay, awesome. Well fast forward to today and it is all over the news that a blizzard is headed straight for NYC and we’ll be getting up to a foot over the span of 6 hours or so (today, Thursday). Yikes!
Luke is here with me for the first two days to shoot as many photos as we can. He is my trusty photographer! Today I had two shows planned, Roumel 6 and PH5, but we decided instead to do as many outfit photos as we could because once this blizzard comes in, it may throw us for a loop!
While walking around shooting, we stumbled across the cutest coffee shops that I’ve seen on Insta, Maman and Cha Cha Matcha. Maman had delicious mocha lattes and sandwiches!
For dinner, we headed to The View, which is the only rotating restaurant in NYC. It’s getting close to Valentine’s Day and I was trying to find the restaurant from Sleepless in Seattle, but it no longer exists and this was the closest thing! It rotated super slowly, but we got to see the whole skyline and the food was delicious. This restaurant was a little touristy and pretty pricey, but we wanted at least one date night while we were together in NYC, and the atmosphere was definitely cozy and romantic. Overall, I would say it was worth it and fun to experience once.
There are lots of shows I’m planning on attending Thursday, so hopefully the snow storm doesn’t interfere with any of those events.
Be sure to follow along on my Insta stories, where I’ll be sharing all the details and you can watch me brave the snow while still trying to look semi-fashionable 😉
Awesome! ❤
